Munch perform at over 100 wedding receptions a year, providing the ‘first dance’ for many a happy couple. They also play at private parties, festivals, charity and corporate events - in fact, almost anywhere! They know how to woo crowds every time. What Have They Done Before? Munch have been performing professionally all over the U.K and Europe since the late 90s, and have entertained some of the most prestigious audiences in the country, including the Royal Court Theatre, clients such as BMW, the Beatles Festival, the Labour party conference 2006, Durham Castle, the Carling Academy and too many football stadiums to mention! Robin Hill (Drums) started out in a Band called the Squad (one of John Peel’s favourite bands!) featuring Terry Hall who later went on to join the Specials. He has been on tour with The Clash, was the drummer for the Communards on tour as well as releasing several independent albums, the latest with his writing partner Michael Deakin. Mike (Lead and Backing vocals, Guitar and Bass), who was taught his trade by the guitarist from the La’s in the late 80’s, is a professional session musician who writes, records and is currently promoting his own music. Completing the triangle is Colin Trevorrow (Lead/Backing vocals/Guitar and Bass): producer and studio owner working with the likes of The Farm, Tom Robinson and the Shamen, and who has performed at venues such as Glastonbury and the Royal Albert Hall! Over the past 15 years the band has toured from John O’ Groats to Lands End, Holland to Tunisia, Ireland to the Isle of Man, meeting wonderful people and doing something they truly love; no wonder they’re so happy to perform! What Sort of Music Do They Play? This dynamic and good-humoured band pride themselves on a varied repertoire that suits all ages. Munch can encourage singers and musicians from the crowd, even getting the kids involved with tambourines and dance routines. It’s never an “us and them” situation with Munch - once you see them enjoying themselves you won’t be able to resist dancing and singing along! Imagine bands like the Police, the Jam, Supergrass or Cream to envisage the power this trio can put out! Munch play lively, danceable hits from the 50s right through to present day No 1s, also provided in the shape of their optional DJ package. As huge fans of the fab four, they specialise in a wide range of Beatles’ songs. Additionally, extra songs can be learnt prior to your event for only a small extra fee and with at least 4 weeks’ notice. Munch always provide background music between sets free of charge - and you are invited to bring along a compilation CD or MP3 player to play through their sound system. A fun, lively, hugely entertaining 4 piece rock & pop band covering hits from The Beatles & Kinks through to Killers, Kooks, Madness & even the Bangles! An excellent all round band |
