Madison Heights Soul Experience are a Hampshire, UK based, nine-piece, authentic soul band, who deliver an energetic and exciting performance of classic songs by the legends of soul. An all-live band with a big sound, who consistently deliver memorable and professional performances for wedding receptions, corporate functions and private parties.

Marc White from the band answers the WedSocial questions.

 

What was the last film you saw?
Australia – visually superb movie starring Nicole Kidman. Three hours of excellent entertainment!

What is your favourite place to be?
At home, relaxing with the family! You can’t better it!

Your dream holiday?
Two weeks in Barbados, and even better; three weeks in Barbados! This Caribbean Island has got everything, chilled atmosphere, great weather and beaches, stunning scenery and excellent reggae.

How do you relax?
Cooking a nice meal for family or friends, probably a paella, and washing in down with a good bottle of Rioja.

What are you listening to right now?
I listen to mainly soul, jazz and rhythm and blues. Right now I’m listening to Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings, the Dap Kings played on the recent Amy Winehouse album.

Describe your ideal evening out?
Seeing some good live music. I recently saw Al Green at the Albert Hall, the guy was sensational!!

What is your favourite time of day?
My best time of day is the evening! I have a bit of trouble getting my head of the pillow in the morning. I don’t seem to come alive until the sun goes down and I’m ready to rock and roll!!

Town or country?
Definitely a townie, I’m addicted to good strong espresso; there’s very few Starbucks in the country!

Which three words describe you?
Tall, dark and handsome! There ain’t nobody going to say small, fat and ugly!!

How did you get started in your business?
Through a love for what I do. Don’t make the mistake of starting a business you’re not passionate about. Don’t do it just because of the money!!

Do you believe in love at first sight?
No.. All relationships take time to develop. If you’re not initially friends, forget it!

Who or what makes you laugh?
Billy Connolly is one of the funniest men I’ve ever seen live! My jaws ached for hours after seeing one of his shows!

Love or money?
It has to be love! Although if you have money, you’ll more likely to get a better class of love!

Who is your favourite person to speak to?
My wife. She’s smart and funny!!

Any useful tips for the bride or groom?
Don’t drink too much alcohol at the wedding breakfast! I’ve seen some brides so over refreshed they were unable to control their legs during their first dance! Not a pretty sight!
